Christmas 2016, Part 1

Christmas was long and busy this year, so I'll break our day down into three parts!

Every year the girls make a gift for each other. We started this when they were little and they always look forward to it. They open these gifts on Christmas Eve, after the services at church. This year, Katherine decorated a craft box for Rachel to put earrings in. Rae had been worrying about where to store her new earrings, so she was quite pleased with her gift.

Rachel had been asking Granny to teach her to sew, so her gift to Katherine was a pillowcase she'd sewn herself. Rae has been SO excited about this sewing project! Katherine was very appreciative of her new pillow. She even brought it out for present opening festivities in the morning.
We spent Christmas morning at home.

Santa brought Rachel a bird cage for her little chirping bird toys.
Santa also brought Katherine a new frying pan. And yes, this delighted her!
Since it was Sunday, we put on our new clothes and headed off to church before the next Christmas celebration.
