Wedding Adventure

We went to Branson this weekend for Steve's nephew's wedding.  It was our first experience with "destination weddings" and our first relatively long car trip as a family of four.  The girls did pretty well cooped up in the car and certainly were less stressed than the adults when we got lost in the insane Branson traffic.  The whole extended family stayed in condos at a beautiful Cape Cod style resort (not at all Ozark-like, but darling just the same).
Our "hotel house" (Rachel's term) was a cut little 3 bedroom cottage we shared with Steve's parents.

The furnishings looked like an L.L. Bean Home Furnishings catalog, complete with a weather vane and model ships in the window.  Katherine and I were instantly smitten with our "beach cottage".

We didn't have time to do the usual Branson shows or visit the lake, but there was time to hang with grandparents and cousins, go to the park, and explore our "neighborhood".

The wedding was in a beautiful little chapel in the woods.  It was one of the most fun weddings I've ever been to.  The setting was gorgeous, the service relaxed and there were I Spy and word searches on the backs of the programs.  The reception was just as much fun.  Instead of a cake, there was a cookie tower!
There were snacky foods and table games and lots of time to hang out with the cousins.  The girls' biggest cousins are a generation older than they are, so it's an interesting group.  Here are all the cousins, including Nathan and Amber, the bride and groom.
It was a fun weekend!
