It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

We dug out the Christmas books, Advent calendar, and nativity sets last week and Steve put up the outdoor lights but the rest of the Christmas decorations were still in storage.  Until tonight.  Rachel started the day off in a new Rudolph dress, Granny-made of course!
This evening we drug up the Christmas tree and ornament boxes.  Rae did a puzzle...

... while Steve and Katherine put together the tree.
Then is was finally time to decorate!

Katherine made sure that all ornaments with her name or picture were placed front and center.  Rachel hoarded little piles of ornaments and then crammed them all on the same branch.  It is a well decorated tree - at least the lower half!
We have a lot of ornaments that say Joy (hmmm... I wonder why?) and lots of ornaments from China.  But this is my very favorite ornament.  My mom gave it to us the Christmas before Katherine was born, when we were in the paperwork process of her adoption.  It summed up our longing to be a family so well and brought me so much hope.  Every year when I pull it out, I remember how blessed I am.
