We spent a few days with Steve's parents this week. Monday morning I stepped out of the shower to find my mother-in-law scrubbing blood out of the carpet, my father-in-law gingerly wiping Rachel's forehead with a wet washcloth, and Rae watching TV with a grin on her face and an inch long gash on her forehead! It seems Rachel turned a corner too fast and ran into a door. We patched her up the best we could, but it was apparent that she needed more than butterfly bandaids. So, we called up a local doctor who took one look and agreed she needed stitches. Rachel, of course, was NOT pleased. She was strapped into a papoose board, with Steve holding her feet, me lying across her midsection, and a nurse trying to hold her head and she still got an arm free! She now has 3 neat little stitches in her head and is rather pleased with her "ow". Well, we've known since about the second day we'd met her that Rae would end up with stitches and now we've survived the first of them!
