My mom and sister have taken "Girls' Days" for years. They spend a weekend exploring a big town, do lots of shopping, and just enjoy each other. At some point, Katherine heard about this and protested. After all, SHE is a girl and she hadn't been invited. So last Spring Break, Mom, Robin, Katherine, and I went to Oklahoma City and had a grand time together. This year we stayed closer to home and just spent a night in Wichita. Rachel came along, too. We had dinner at a Thai restaurant that Robin and I love. Mom liked it, too, Katherine liked the sticky rice with coconut and fresh mango (possible the world's best dessert...), and Rachel thought it was fabulous and ate huge helpings of everything. We spent the evening swimming in the motel pool. Rae had only been swimming once (in China) but was VERY excited about the giant "bath". She loves the water and has no fear at all - jumps in by herself, puts her face in the water, lunges from one adult to another. She is a little fish! This morning, Steve met us and took Rachel home with him. Rae was NOT pleased at missing part of the Girls' Day. However, she just isn't ready for a full day of shopping. The rest of "the Girls" spent all day wandering through stores. Kate loves to shop and can go all day. We had a lot of fun. I love spending time with my mom and my sister and adding my girls to the mix is even better!
