I looked outside this morning and saw sunshine and blue skies - there were even birds singing. I thought, "It looks pretty nice out." And then I looked at the thermometer. It said 6. I'm getting very tired of the deep freeze. It has not been above freezing in nearly 3 weeks. It hasn't been above 20 in almost two. It takes 10 minutes to bundle everyone up enough to get in the car to go somewhere. My classroom is so cold that I wore long underwear and 3 shirts to school all week. The street in front of our house is solid ice, with ruts and bumps everyhwere. Yuck!!!!
After weeks trapped inside the kids are REALLY restless. Hurricane Rae was out in full force this morning - dumping toys, emptying drawers, unrolling toilet paper, and stripping completely naked all before 8:30. Steve just took Katherine and her new bike to the high school to ride in the hallways. K. got the bike from Santa and hasn't been able to ride it at all!
